MBT- Altered Letter "L" Hook

Hi Ladies!
I wanted to share an altered letter "L" hook I created with items from MB's Treasurista's shop. You'll find all the items from the shop I've used below with links to the actual item. Thanks for stopping by and watching!


I purchased one of these Alphabet Hooks from Michaels a couple months ago and have been dying to alter it. When my DT package came and I opened the box, I knew this was the projects to alter.
Firstly, I covered the "L" with design paper from LilyBee Designs, Memorandum Collection. I inked the edges with black Stazon Ink.

I dyed a piece of Antique White Drip Lace with alcohol and Folk Art Metallic Paint. The lace took the colour like a dream! The colour, a rich, aqua is perfect! It goes with the paper line and flowers spot-on.

I decided early on that I wanted to use the Acrylic Flowers from my DT box. I placed a glimmer sprayed I Am Roses mulberry flower and surrounded it with the gorgeous acrylic flowers in yellow and turquoise... so cute! For the finishing touch, I added a perfectly placed a 1'' Organza Butterfly. I {heart} the way this letter turned out. It's simple and modern with a twist of traditional whimsy.
