Peace, Love Joy

Good Morning Scrappy Friends!
This morning I'm sharing this layout I created with some fun, new (to me) digital files. I went all high tech with this layout 😝
The cut file is from The Cut Shoppe and you can follow the link to make it yours, https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/581204389/the-peace-joy-cut-file-is-a-christmas?ga_search_query=joy&ref=shop_items_search_1.
The digital ephemera is from The Minty Octopus, https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/TheMintyOctopus?ref=search_shop_redirect.

Finally, the paper collection I used is the Maggie Holmes, Carousel. It coordinated perfectly with the die cuts! It was a no brainer for me. LOL!

I started by cutting the title, Peace Love, Joy file from TCS with my Silhouette Cameo and popped it all up with dimensional foam. That was a little time consuming but I really like the over all popped up look. It really adds some depth and dimension to the layout. It makes the title look like it's jumping off the page and not just lying flat.

See what I mean about the lift and dimension? I love it!

Next, I played around with the embellishing. This collection from Cat Martin, Hip Holiday is adorable! I must have cut the files about 4 times each! I tried not to add too much ti this layout since the title is so large.

I wanted just a loving sprinkle of ephemera and embellishments. The snowflakes were a perfect elent to add a achieve this overall look.

For a final touch, I added some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold. The light splatters just adds the most subtle bit of shimmer and shine. And, I just love the contrast.

That's it! Simple and easy with this layout!
Hope you enjoyed! I had fun with this one!

Let it Snow

Hey Friends!
Today, I'm sharing this layout I created with Crate Paper's Snow & Cocoa. It was originally released last year but they re-released it adding some fun new elements to the beautiful collection. Here's what I created:

I started with the background paper and using my Silhouette Cameo and a cut file from The Cut Shoppe, cut out that adorable Holly and Hanging Stars piece. I then paper pieced it using paper from the collection and the 6x6.

The photo I used is from this Christmas when my daughters and I went to see Santa and take pictures with him. My oldest, pictured here, was giddy the entire time and had a laundry list of things she wanted to talk to Santa about. :P

I placed this chipboard "Let it Snow" across the Holly cut file. I just love the "banner" effect it has. It's so celebratory!

For this layout, it was my mission to use my chipboard. I feel like it's the most neglected in my arsenal of embellishing pieces. So, with this in mind, I made sure to use many pieces on my layout.

For the journaling aspect of my layouts, I like to use tiny words from the Accessory Sticker's sheet to convey my message. If I have something more to say, I usually write it on the back of the layout, including the date and ages of everyone involved.

I finished my layout with some enamel dots an some gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine. My fave!

Have a wonderful day!

Wonderful Winter

Good Morning Scrappy Fam,

Today, I'm sharing a quick layout I created with the wonderful Snow and Cocoa collection from Crate Paper. This photo has been waiting to be scrapbooked all winter, spring and now summer. I've had it printed and ready to go on my desk for ages and I'm just now getting the chance to scrap it. 😛

I started with some mixed media on this black and white print background sheet. I took some Dylusions Ink Spray in London Blue and Purple and used the packaging technique to smoosh it onto my paper.

I waited a bit for the ink to dry and hopped right into embellishing using the die cuts, sticker accents and chipboard pieces. I created a metallic gold nest for the button flair and glued that down.

Finally, I added some gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine splatters to the page and called it done!
Thanks for stopping by today friends!

PI | Dolphin Play

Good Morning Friends!
Today, I'd like to share a layout I created for my monthly Paper Issues post using the brand spanking new collection from Crate Paper, Oasis. I'm really digging this collection as it's got a weekend getaway- Miami nights feel to it. It's kinda kitschy!

The photo I used for my layout is of my husband on our trip to the Riviera Maya in Mexico 2 years ago. Yes, I am that behind in scrapbooking photos. LOL! Actually, I don't scrapbook in chronological order, I scrapbook what I feel like depending on the day or challenge.

The background paper I used is the white and light aqua blue ledger looking type called Postcard. It was perfect! I matted my photo with the pale woodgrain that's included in this collection. I knew that when I opened the collection and looked through it, that the ombre pink and purple chipboard frame was something I needed to use first. And I did. It was the first thing I took outta this collection and based everything else around the use of it. I wasn't too concerned with using a feminine frame with a picture of my husband. I think it works well!

For my title, I decided to go stash busting and pull both alphas from my hoard vault. The mint green alpha are from OA and the Thickers are a fabulous wood grain that complimented the rest of the woodgrain in the collection. It's called Boardwalk.

The tags in the background were cut out from the vellum sheet in the collection. I just chose ones that worked well with the rest of the colours on my layout. To embellish, I used pieces from the Ephemera package, pieces from the chipboard sheet and finally some of the sticker accents. All of the pieces are so bright and colourful and I just adore this collection!

There's that frame! Swoon! ❤️

Finally to finish my layout, I used some gold spray mist for splatter and a bit of black as well. What would one of my layouts be with out the use of gold spray mist? LOL

Thank you for stopping by today! I appreciate you being here! Remember that if you're shopping in the Paper Issues Shop, to use code LINA for 20% off your entire order 😊
